An office building overlooking the Corniche with a simple plan. The site has a wide width, with no equivalent depth, the narrow depth makes the building almost two dimensional, flat in character,..a “Mask”
Therefore the building was conceived as a ‘Face’, with features that convey both the current expression and adds onto what seems to be the missing one, … depth.
The curvilinear facial features, contrasting with the cubical massing, forms the composition. The modernist glazing reflects the expressions of the neighboring buildings.
This complements the vertical feature taken from the traditional Emirati barjeel “ wind tower”, echoed again in the curved capping.
